Johnny R. Castillo Jr. of Floresville, TX, took his final breath here on earth and his first in heaven on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025. Born April 16, 1971, in San Antonio, he was the son of Guadalupe Morales of San Antonio and the late Johnnie R. Castillo Sr.
While a freshman in high school, Johnny met the love of his life, Carolyn, when he was only 14 years old. They were married May 28, 1994 in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and shared 31 beautiful years together.
Johnny was a husband, son, brother, friend, and a steady source of love and strength. He lived his life with kindness, always putting family first, always giving without expecting anything in return. There wasn't a bad bone in his body. His heart was full of love, and his hands were always ready to help.
We are grateful for the gift of his life-for every moment he shared, for the laughter he brought into our lives, and for the quiet strength he offered in times of need. He loved his family fiercely and took care of them in every way he could. His legacy is one of compassion, loyalty, and deep, unwavering love.
For those who feel Johnny's loss most deeply-his siblings who grew up beside him, who shared a lifetime of memories, and his family who cherished him-we pray for comfort and peace. We are reminded that though he may be gone in body, his spirit will never leave. His love lives on in the stories we tell, the lessons he taught, and the memories that time will never erase.
May Johnny rest in peace, knowing his love made a difference and his life will never be forgotten. Although he is no longer in the arms of those he loved, He rests in peace in the arms of His Savior.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Castillo Sr.; and sister Rachel Castillo. Johnny leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Carolyn Castillo; his mother, Guadalupe Morales; his seven cherished sisters, Ophelia (Danny), Gloria (Carlos), Rose (Danny), Diane (Rene), Pat (Jerry), Melinda (Ray), and Lupe; sister-in-law Debbie (Andrew); many wonderful nieces and nephews; and numerous friends
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 4-8 p.m., with a rosary to start at 6 p.m., in Castillo Funeral Home in San Antonio.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in San Antonio. Family and friends will depart from the church to lay Johnny to rest in San Fernando Cemetery II.
