Johnny Glenn Dearing

Johnny Glenn Dearing, age 79, of Bremen, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, surrounded by his children at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1946, in Albertville, Alabama, the son of the late John Oliver Steve Dearing and Essie Ophelia Boen Dearing.
Johnny graduated from Bremen High School in 1964, and later that year married the love of his life. He worked as a machine operator at General Motors for over 30 years. Last year he received his 25 year apron from the Draketown Masonic Lodge #252. Johnny was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where he was a deacon, was active in Sunday School and sang in the choir, as long as his health allowed. He also ran the sound system at Corinth for many years. He was on site for many weddings, funerals, and special occasions. Johnny was always ready to share Jesus, and he made it his mission to make people smile.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mavis Whitton Dearing; parents-in-law, Willie Mae and Willard Wayne Whitton, Sr.; a brother, Gary Dearing; brothers-in-law John Waskey, Willard Wayne Whitton, Jr., and Johnny Cash.
Survivors include his children, Candy Dearing, Pepper and Steve Moon, Keith and Kendra Dearing, all of Bremen; a sister, Shelia Waskey; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Cary) Kierbow and Shelby Cash; and grandchildren, Whittoney Moon, Megan Kennedy, and Kailei Justiss; special friends and caregivers, Toni Junior and Suzanne Purser.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:30pm until 3:00pm at Corinth Baptist Church. Services will be conducted on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 3:00pm from Corinth Baptist Church with Dr. Aaron Johnson, Bro. Tommy Garner officiating. Music will be provided by Brenda and Joel Agan. Michael Kierbow, Joe Cash, Chris Waskey, Stephen Waskey, Christopher Willey, Danny Elsberry, Chad Perry, Jeremiah Perry, and Johnathan Ward will serve as pallbearers. The Deacons of Corinth Baptist Church, Franklin Kay, Mac Cole, and Jason Blackmon will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
