Jerry Allen Wells, age 75, of Bremen passed away on October 30, 2025, at Redmond Regional Medical Hospital in Rome. He was the husband of Deanna Mahler Wells and the son of the late Avis Wright Wells. He was the son-in-law of the late George A. "Pete" Mahler and Detrice Mahler.
Jerry was born on July 21, 1950, in Bremen, Georgia. He attended Bremen High School. In 1967, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He got his orders for duty to Vietnam in 1969 and did one tour. He returned in 1970. He had other duty stations in Okinawa, Philippines, and Hawaii. He was discharged from active duty in 1971 and remained in the inactive reserves until 1973. In October of 1972, he met his wife of 52 years, and they were married in June of 1973. They had three daughters: Tori, Jami, and T. Jai. Jerry was employed by Winn Dixie in the warehouse and then as a construction foreman for new stores for 33 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife Deanna, their 3 daughters: Tori Norton (Kenny) of Rockmart, Jami Lovvorn (Andy) of Carrollton, and T. Jai Tague (Chris) of Anderson S.C.; nine grandchildren: Avis Norton, Kobe Hulsey, Brandon Tague, Kiersten Tague, Brady Tague, Brock Tague, Kassadee Tague, Wesley Lovvorn, and Riley Lovvorn; and one sister-in-law, Lola Wells. Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Avis Wells, sister, Glenda Middlebrook, and brothers, Bobby and Jack Wells.
Services will be held at Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen, Georgia. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4th. The service will be held in the Chapel. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Bremen following the service.
