Johnny Ealy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stone Brothers Funeral Home - Fort Pierce on Oct. 28, 2025.
Johnny Arness Ealy, the son of the late Thomas Paul Ealy, Sr. and Catherine G. Ealy was born on October 6, 1962, in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was the seventh child of his proud parents, who had three boys and six girls.. Johnny was particularly close to his two brothers, Thomas and William, and adored his sister Mary, who cared for him during his recent illness.

A rambunctious boy, Johnny enjoyed participating in physical activities and working with his hands. Johnny started primary school in Indian River and subsequently transferred to St. Lucie County. Although often distracted, he was determined to complete his education and obtained his GED from St. Lucie County.

As a young man Johnny went to work with his father, where they operated a lawn care business and where he excelled in operating heavy equipment and driving big trucks. All of his customers praised his work and his work ethic and were loyal until he retired. And everyone who worked with Johnny noted his dedication and commitment.

Johnny had a zeal for life and believed in living it to its fullest. He was extremely protective of his family and acted as a mentor and confidant to the members of his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was quick to come to anyone's aid or defense and was always willing to speak his mind.

Johnny leaves to mourn six sisters, Dr. Joyce Marie Crankfield, Fort Pierce, FL; Linda Ann Jackson, Riviera, Fl; Catherine Ann Simon, Fort Pierce, FL; Mary Elizabeth Ealy, Fort Pierce, FL; Olivia Ealy, Homestead, FL; and Iris Shedrick (Franklin), Palm Bay, FL; grandmother, Catherine H. Ealy, Gifford, FL; grandchildren, Mariah Jeannette O'Neal, Vero Beach, FL and Chrostopher Deshawn O'Neal, III; aunts, Lula Mae Armstead, Oslo, FL; Bertha Mae Grimes, South Carolina; and Mildred Grimes, Florahome, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.
