Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. John Marion Hudson, Jr., age 75, of Martinez, who died Friday evening, October 10, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Wade Sosebee and Mr. Joe Cheeks officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00. Burial will follow in the Rose Dhu Cemetery in Vidette. Men serving as pallbearers will be Roff Pulliam, Thomas Pulliam, Kenneth Cheeks, Dennis Cheeks, Matt Andrews, & John Daniels.
Mr. Hudson was a native of Vidette, a son of the late John Marion Hudson and Barbara Martin Hudson. He retired after more than 20 years as a meat cutter and Market Manger with BI-LO Supermarket and was a member of Vidette Methodist Church, the Waynesboro Jaycees, and the Junior Chamber of Commerce, but his greatest pastime was spending time with his family.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, and a brother "Andy" Hudson and is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years: Johnnie "Sue" Hudson of Martinez; daughters: Ruby Lenora Martin and Ashleah Merritt Hudson, both of Augusta; son: Roy Hamilton Hudson of Augusta; his mother: Barbara Hudson of Vidette; sister: Nancy Pulliam; brothers-in-law: Wayne Pulliam, "Joe" Cheeks, and "Bob Chisam; sister-in-law: Mildred Hudson; nephews: Roff Pulliam, Thomas Pulliam, "Mark" Hudson, "Chris" Hudson, and Shane Chisam.
To honor Johnny's life, the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association or to the American Cancer Society.
