Johnny Johnson, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Georgetown, Tennessee. A man of remarkable character and an adventurous spirit, Johnny lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Born to Roy and Louise Johnson, Johnny grew up with a deep appreciation for family, nature, and hard work. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, exemplifying bravery and commitment to service. Following his military career, Johnny pursued his passion for helping others as a professional firefighter, dedicating countless hours to protecting his community. Later, he took to the open roads as an over-the-road truck driver, transitioning to local routes in his later years.
Johnny had a lifelong love for the outdoors and nature. He found joy in exploring the beauty of the world, traveling to new places in his younger years, and connecting with the serenity of the natural environment. He also had a passion for aviation and delighted in flying planes, occasionally taking the controls as a pilot. His adventurous spirit and love of exploration were hallmarks of his personality.
Above all, Johnny was a devoted family man. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, Annabel Lee Henry, Beau Tiberius Henry, and Charleston John Henry, often engaging in playful activities and creating lasting memories with them. His love and dedication to his family were evident in every aspect of his life.
Johnny is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Stair Johnson of Georgetown, Tennessee; his children, Jessica Henry and Ricky Henry; his grandchildren, Annabel Lee Henry, Beau Tiberius Henry, and Charleston John Henry; and his brother, Kenneth Johnson. His family and friends will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who always put family first.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Louise Johnson, and his sister, Marsha Johnson. Their memories remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew and loved Johnny.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home Cleveland Chapel. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Johnny's life, share their favorite memories, and honor a man who touched so many lives.
Johnny Johnson will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit, unwavering dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
