Johnny (John) Jay McGough, 73 passed away from this life on June 22, 2022 at the Life Care Center of Bountiful in Bountiful, UT. He was born in Torrance, CA on October 23, 1948 to Orris Eugene and JoAnn Patricia (Wade) McGough.
John married Janice Ann Like in 1968 and they had 2 children, Elizabeth and Sean. John and Janice were divorced in 1981. He married Patricia Baugh, later divorced. Then married Fiona Preston, later divorced. He married Carole Lillian (Jenks) Highfill on December 20, 1985.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, then 12 years in the National Guard. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he served in many callings including teacher, High Priest group leader, bishopric counselor, and ward and stake missionary. John's lifelong vocation was in inspection. He last worked at L-3 Communications in Salt Lake City, UT.
John is survived by his wife, Carole; daughter, Elizabeth McGough; son, Sean (Toni) McGough; step-sons Dennis, Will, and Jason (Brandon) Highfill; step-daughters, Tamara Lamont, Robyn (Al) Valdez, and Kelley (Kenny) Highfill-Sattiewhite; granddaughter, Ashlynn; step-grandson, Kamron; and a multitude of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; biological father, Lester Bryant Parker; and brother, Dale Aurther McGough.
Heartfelt thanks to the Foxboro 1st Ward bishopric and members, the 7th Branch Presidency and members, the wonderful and caring staff at Life Care Center of Bountiful, and Cascade Springs Health and Hospice, especially Rebecca, for all their service and love.
