Johnny Earl Ramirez Sr, 48, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away in Amarillo, Texas, on December 1, 2025.
The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 3 pm to 7 pm at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur. A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home's Chapel of Angels, with Pastor Chris Condit presiding.
Johnny was born on March 27, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas, to Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann and Enrique Ramirez. He met the mother of his three children, Lollianne Ramirez, during his high school years, and in time they married and began their family.
Throughout his life, Johnny was known for his kindness, creativity, intelligence, gentle nature, loving spirit, and joyful heart. His big, beautiful smile and dimples lit up every room he entered. He carried happiness with him wherever he went, and those who met him felt the warmth of his caring heart and the genuine love he had for others. Johnny never rushed a conversation, he made time for everyone, and people cherished talking with him. If you let him, he would happily talk with you all day, sharing stories, laughter, and comfort. He truly had a heart that welcomed everyone.
Johnny brought sweetness, humor, and light into the lives of those around him. He was always the first to ask how someone was doing, showing interest and compassion for others. He deeply cherished time spent with family, his siblings, and his children. He enjoyed art, drawing, freestyling, watching sports—especially football and his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers—collecting throwback jerseys, jewelry, Jordan shoes, and taking car rides. Above all, he loved music of all genres, especially old-school rap. You could always find him “banging the throwback jams,” head-bopping with a smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann and Enrique Ramirez.
Johnny is survived by his siblings: Melissa Anna Knight and Joel Ramirez; his children: Jasmine Marisa Lorrane Ramirez, Johnny Earl Ramirez Jr, and Jade Elizabeth Ramirez; and his grandchildren: Jordan J’quan Barnes jr. (JJ), Xaveon Christian Ramirez, Toni Castaneda, Anthony Jordan Molinar, and Zae Mateo Molinar.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to “the hood” for always helping take care of Johnny. May Johnny be at peace, reunited with his parents in heaven, together as family once again.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to help with funeral costs. Contributions may be given in person at the service or afterward, or directed to Johnny Ramirez, Jr. via the following:
