Johnny "Red" Semien was born July 30, 1961, in Opelousas, Louisiana to Algy Semien and Drusella Richard Semien. He was raised in Westlake where he attended Westlake High School and was involved with the Westlake Boxing Club and played basketball. He decided to join the Army Reserve in 1979 until 1985, as a tactical wire specialist. In his free time, he helped out at the family restaurant, Dru's Kitchen. He also enjoyed doing yard work, barbecuing, and feeding his family, along with spending time with all of his grandchildren, little people. He was known for helping everyone and being a very early riser. He was employed with various companies doing construction work, over the last thirty years until his departure from this life. He leaves to cherish his memories, his fiance' Samantha Broussard; he was blessed with one child,, Nikki Monceaux; God found it fitting to give him several bonus children, Devin Broussard, Nathan Wilson, Alyssa Willsted, and Candace Broussard; one godchild, Dasia Semien Nonette; several grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Rylee, Allen, Madilyn, and Danikey; and two sisters, Joan "Sally" Semien (Rayford Seastrunk) and Regina "Suzie" Semien. He was preceded in death by his parents Algy and Drusella Semien; one brother, Donald Wayne "Chief" Semien; and two nephews, Johnnie "Bud" Benjamin and Donovan "Nuk" Shepherd Semien. He will also be meeting several aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. His visitation will be Friday, June 6, 2025, from 9AM with his funeral following at 11AM, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church located at 1301 Sampson Street in Westlake. Rosary will be at 10AM. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery, under the direction of James Funeral Home.
