Johnny Shepherd Obituary

Johnny was a Fries High School Graduate, Class of 76'. He worked at Volvo for over 30 years. After retirement, he was a Nascar official where he worked with the Rusty Wallace Driving Experience. He was also a speedway official at the Lonesome Pine and Pulaski Speedway. He loved racing, boating, and motorcycles and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his sister, Rebecca Shepherd-Demaria of Fries, VA; and a very special aunt, Elizabeth Mabe Jones of Kernersville, NC; he was also survived by a host of special friends.
Private services may be held at a later date.

So sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. Although our marriage ended in divorce, we had some good times through the years, especially at Bowman Gray Stadium and 311 Speedway. So glad he was able to continue his love for racing over the years. Condolences to Becky and Elizabeth. Actually, his and John's correct names were John Kermit Shepherd, Jr and John Kermit Shepherd, Sr. (Just sayin').
