Johnny was born in Las Vegas, NE on September 8, 1959 to John Wayne Swarers and Martha Ann Beckham and went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 21, 2023 in Tyler, TX. He was a hard worker in the oil field for many years. He enjoyed classic old cars and cruising on his motorcycle. His most memorable times were spent during retirement where he loved to have a fishing pole in hand at the camp grounds with Sue, family and their two sweet puppies, Maggie Mae and Bailey.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jeffery Norsworthy; step-granddaughter, Jasmynn Otwell and his first wife, Kathy Harrod.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karla Sue “Pooh” Swarers; step-daughters, Kaylee Lance and husband, Jason and Macee Autry and husband, Matt; step-son, Andy Otwell and wife, Janice; step-grandchildren, Jacie, Justin, Kobi, Kruz, Cole, Audri Adalyn and Jayden. Johnny is also survived by his brothers, Michael Norsworthy and wife, Kristy and Tony Swarers and wife, Lisa; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honoring Johnny as pallbearers will be Brennen Norsworthy, Tommy Stanley, Timmy Stanley, Andy Otwell, Jason Lance and Matt Autry.
The last years of Johnny’s life were spent getting to know Jesus as his savior. Although he had a rough life on the oil rigs, he was drawn to the Lord. He loved to share what Jesus had done in his life with anyone who crossed his path. He wanted to be a walking testimony, and by the Grace of God, he was just that.
