Jon Aaronson Obituary
December 10, 1941 - February 6, 2025
Madison – Jon Aaronson, age 83, died on February 6, 2025, at UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Jon was born on December 10, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents, Irving and Freda Greenbaum Aaronson. Upon graduating from Erasmus Hall High School, he attended Harpur College (BA), Michigan State University (MA), and UW-Madison (PhD).
Jon is survived by his wife, Jane; son, David Aaronson; and his daughters, Mia and Carmen; son, Joe (Roxy) Aaronson and their children, Aaliyah and Dalilah; stepsons, Garth (Tamie) Langhammer and their children, Evin and Triese; Gavin Langhammer and his sons, Jude, Charlie, and Noah; and dear friends, Lorna Aaronson and Jim Klancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Freda; and his second wife, Judy Neal.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive in Madison, with a reception following the service.
I lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, or Planned Parenthood.
