Jon Corpron Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 2, 2025.
Jon Robert Corpron, age 71 (3,728 weeks), was called home to eternity with Jesus on March 26, 2025, after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jon was born on September 10, 1953, to Robert and Shirley Corpron. As their first-born son, he joined his older sister, Teri, and later his favorite brother, Jim, and little sister, Karen, rounding out the Corpron kids. He graduated from Stanley High School in 1971. After high school, Jon attended college for a while before enlisting in the Army. He served his country both overseas in Germany and here in the United States for 8 years. He was proud to be a United States veteran. He was still a friend to many of his classmates and people he served with up until the time of his death. When he returned to Stanley after his discharge, he began to farm with his dad.
On August 2, 1986, Jon was united in marriage to Camille (Cammy) Patten. They resided in Stanley until moving to their second favorite home in Arizona. While in Arizona, Cammy taught school and Jon worked for Intel for many years until he retired in 2011. Their family expanded when their son, Jacob, was born and joined his three older siblings, Jon Robert, Jr., Joshua, and Chrystyna.
Although he called Arizona home, Jon's heart remained firmly planted in North Dakota. Returning to his roots in the summer was important to Jon to check on the farmland, celebrate the 4th of July, and to go hunting in the fall with his boys and Jim when they could join him. Sports was a passion of Jon's from an early age with his boyhood friends through high school, college, the army, and even as he continued to play softball after he turned 70. Riding his bike feverishly was also something he enjoyed doing as he got older.
Cammy and Jon enjoyed traveling and taking road trip adventures in the fifth wheel together. One of their favorite places to visit was Cabo a couple of times a year with family. The last time they visited Cabo was in February shortly before he was diagnosed with cancer.
It appears Jon never met a stranger. He was known to carry on a conversation with most people on just about any topic. He knew a lot of interesting and sometimes useless trivial knowledge that he was always happy to share with others.
Jon's legacy of love and family will live on in those who shared his life: his wife, Cammy; his children, Jon (Tina) Robert Corpron, Jr., Joshua Corpron, Chrystyna (Cliff) Mercer, and Jacob Corpron (Jessica Almer). His grandchildren, Lexi Corpron, Jon Robert Corpron III, River and Branch Mercer. His step-grandchildren, Ben and Tristan Butzine, and Lyndon and Londyn Almer. He was blessed with two bonus grandchildren, Grant and Kate Peterson. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Corpron (Jill Brindley) and his sister, Karen (Jon) Anderson; his mother-in-law, Connie Patten; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Dawnelle Peterson and Kelly and Lynn Patten. His family also includes several nieces, nephews, and cousins who all will miss him, too.
Waiting to greet him in Heaven were his parents, Bob and Shirl; sister and brother-in-law, Teri and Gene Behr; father-in-law, Gordy Patten; and brother-in-law, Cary Patten.
Until next time, Jon, it looks like rain!!

Dear Cammy and family,
My heart hurts for all of you. Jon´s passing was so unexpected. We´ll miss him too. We loved talking to him around the campfire, dinner and most recently your Christmas get-together. May he rest in peace. Please call us if and when you are back in Mesa this fall and winter. Love you honey.
