Jon Michael Dial, 78-years-old, a resident of Chino Valley, Az., passed away on October 29, 2025 in Prescott.
He was born on December 30, 1946 in Vicksburg, Mississippi but spent his youth in Fort Worth, Texas before joining the US Marine Corps for a three-year tour of duty after which he exchanged his military uniform for the Los Angeles Police Department blue. He served 29 years with LAPD retiring in 1999 as a detective supervisor. His various assignments included homicide detective, undercover officer for the intelligence division, and Internal Affairs surveillance.
Both before and after retirement, Jon worked as a shooting instructor with the Rio Hondo Police Academy and was on staff at the Gun site Academy in Paulden for many years.
Jon leaves his wife of 49 years, Connie Dial, and a sister Marcia Dial, many relatives and friends who will miss his intelligence, compassion and courage.
