Jon Flor, born Jan. 1, 1960, unexpectedly passed away in his sleep on September 30th, 2024. He graduated from Edina High School with the class of 1978. He shared 37 wonderful years with his wife, Mary, filled with adventures including parenting, biking, golfing, family vacations, and loving each other unconditionally. Jon was a whimsical and creative man, professionally in his role as an art director, and recreationally as a guitarist.
Jon embodied selflessness, thoughtfulness, faithfulness, and generosity. His friends and family will remember one of his greatest gifts: his ability to always be present and listen intently. Jon was a proud and supportive father and grandpa, loved his family, and everyone that was a part of it. He was fruitful in his 37 years of active recovery, especially in his role as a leader with Celebrate Recovery at Cedar Valley Church in Bloomington. By God's grace, Jon came to trust and treasure the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jon is preceded in death by parents Dick and Ardelle Flor, and granddaughter Elle Marie Flor. He is survived by his wife Mary, children Alayna (Nick) Thompson, Will (Amanda) Flor, Ricky (Cozette Bennett) Flor, and grandchildren Liam, Lynnea, and Livia Flor, sister Dawn (Don) Eischens, and numerous extended family members.
Jon's life will be celebrated on Oct. 11, 2024, at Cedar Valley Church 8600 Bloomington Ave. South, Bloomington MN. Visitation held at 10 AM, service at 11 AM, followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Celebrate Recovery at celebraterecovery.com. www.Washburn-McReavy.com
