My younger brother forwarded me Jon's information from the newspaper in Austin. I was shocked and saddened to learn about Jon's illness and passing -- I could see from the writing how dearly he loved, and was loved by, his family and friends. It has been far too many years since I have visited personally with Gretchen or Jo, who were my friends when our families were at Randolph AFB, but I think of you often, and always with much affection. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family now. When things settle and you have the time, I would love to hear from Jo and Gretchen, and I am including my e-mail address here. Yours, Charan

My heart go out to Jon's family. I knew him a million years ago in high school ---- he was always such a nice guy. I'm so sorry that he has passed. Please accept my sympathy.

We considered Jon a wonderful son-in-law who was a very loving, sensitive, and giving person. Our fond memories of him will be preserved forever in our minds and hearts, and we will speak of him often as one who brought such great happiness to our daughter Annette and all of our family. We send our love and share in the sorrow of our daughter and his wife Annette-daughters, Marlene and Margeaux-stepdaughters Michelle , Mindy and Cindy - sisters Jo, Leigh, and Gretchen-step-mom Thelma, and all of their extended families.
