Jon Kirtley "Kirt" List

Jon Kirtley "Kirt" List departed this world of chains and entered one of eternal freedom on August 21, 2024. Kirt was born a free spirit on June 11, 1964, to the late Frank Allen and Louetta Krahwinkel List. He was a 1982 graduate of Apollo High School. This is where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Vicki Henry List, the mother of his two sons, Allen and Christian List. True to his free-spirited nature, Kirt enjoyed riding motorcycles. He liked watching NASCAR, NHRA, tractor pulls, and football. Kirt enjoyed watching, coaching, and hearing about the sports that his grandchildren played. He also loved animals. Kirt performed many jobs during his career. He worked as a farm hand, drove semis, was a horizontal driller, and a mechanic for the Daviess County bus garage in his earlier years. He traveled the country working heavy construction, improving power plants and wood mills. Kirt was an iron worker, rigger, and mechanic by trade.
Kirt was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Allen and Louetta K. List; the mother of his boys, Vicki Henry List; and their faithful four-legged companion, Tex.
Kirt is survived by his two sons, Allen (Samantha) List and Christian List; two grandchildren (who could always get a chuckle, or a head shake out of him with their antics), Lilyan and James List; fiancée, Denise Deloach; two sisters, Kandi (David) Gilbreath and Krystal (Jeff) Phelps; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that he made along the way.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
