Jon A. Rice, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home on October 11, 2024.

He was born August 15, 1941, to the late Darrell and Leona (Witham) Rice in Wadena, IA. Jon was a professional truck driver and was a proud owner/operator. He was a man of deep convictions and strong values, embodying a unique blend of toughness and tenderness. His love for his family was unwavering. Loyalty was his cornerstone and he instilled that same sense of devotion in his kids.

One of Jon's greatest joys was riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. The open road was where he felt most alive, especially when he was accompanied by his boys. Jon had a profound love and appreciation for the majestic bald eagle which was deeply intertwined with his great grandmother's Native America Heritage.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jon Rice II; granddaughter, Jena Rice; brother, Burdette Rice.

Jon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Rice; children, Jeffrey (Tracy) Rice, JoEllen (Jerry) Wills, Jennifer (Daniel) Brentlinger, and Jarrod (Dawn) Rice; daughter-in-law, Julie Rice; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024.
