Jon Weilemann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home on Jan. 9, 2026.
Jon Wm. Weilemann, "Bill", age 79, a resident of Naperville, IL, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026 at Tabor Hills Healthcare Center. He was born on November 2, 1946 in Bluffton, IN.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Lydia "Edie" Weilemann, whom he married on June 7, 1969 in Fort Wayne, IN; his loving sons, Jon W. Weilemann, II of Austin, TX and Christopher E. Weilemann of Naperville, IL; his daughter-in-law, Michele R. Weilemann of Austin, TX; his adored grandchildren, Lauren E. (Ryan) Farmer of Round Rock, TX, Kaitlyn A. Weilemann of Ausin, TX, Bailey Grace, Ryan Matthew, and Liam Joseph Weilemann, and their mother, Traci L. Weilemann, of Lisle, IL; his sisters, Monica "Posy" (the late Terry) McMillen of Fort Worth, TX, Cindi (Merrill) Phillips of Fort Wayne, IN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zernie and Mildred Weilemann, and his infant grandson, Lucas Owen Weilemann.
Bill was a proud graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Class of 1965, and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in 1969. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country, proudly serving in the United States Air Force with the Air Defense Command on bases in Texas and New York from 1969 to 1972.
Bill devoted 43 years to a successful career as a corporate credit manager with Continental Can Company, with assignments in Chicago, Rochester, New York, and Stamford, Connecticut. He also held positions at Stone Container in Chicago and later retired from Packaging Corporation of America, Lake Forest, Illinois. Bill took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.
Above all, Bill cherished time with his family. He found joy in working in his yard, washing cars, golfing, woodworking, and coaching his sons' baseball teams. A loyal sports fan, he rarely missed the chance to cheer on his beloved Indiana Hoosiers and Chicago Cubs. Bill's steady presence, strong work ethic, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of 1 and 2 West at Tabor Hills for the care and comfort they provided Bill for the last 27 months.
A Memorial Service at St. John's Episcopal Church, Naperville is being planned for the Summer of 2026. Burial will be private.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Hoosiers Connect or the Naperville Ronald McDonald House in the care of the Memory of Lucas W. Weilemann.
Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville, was entrusted with arrangements.

I´m so happy that my cousin Bill and Edie were close friends with Ron and me as adults. They were a joy! Bill will be missed - even if he did go to I.U.
