Jon Michael Weiske of New Richland, MN passed away Thursday, June 29th, 2023 at the age of 78. A graveside memorial will take place at 3:15 PM Thursday, July 6, 2023 at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Richland; a time for visitation will be held at Friederich's Funeral Home in New Richland from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
In the spring of 1945, Clarence and Verda Weiske welcomed a baby boy into the world on April 23rd in Madelia, MN. Jon grew up alongside his siblings, Mark, Jane, and Judy; moving from Lewisville, MN to Waseca when he was in 5th grade. After graduating from Waseca in 1963, Jon met his future wife, Audrey Schlaak, and the two married on February 13, 1971 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New Richland.
The two welcomed one son, Mike, into their family, and settled down in Waseca, where Jon worked farming most of his life. Along with farming Jon worked at a few other places during his life, spending some time at Brown Printing and Corchran Inc, both out of Waseca. When he wasn't hard at work, Jon enjoyed spending time with his wife, Audrey, watching Wheel of Fortune with her after dinner nearly every night and enjoying day trips together when they could. Jon also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching movies, and playing cards.
Preceding Jon in passing are his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and John Deling; his grandparents; and his mother and father-in-law, Grace and Marvin Schlaak.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Audrey; son Mike Weiske and his partner Jeanne Selvy; brother, Mark (Joanne) Weiske of Waseca; sister, Jane (Dennis) Hager of Wabasha; sisters-in-law, Sandra Schlomann and Gerri (David) Lienke; two grandchildren, Brenden Weiske and Maverick Herrley; and several nieces and nephews.
