Jonah Brown

Jonah Joseph Brown was lovingly welcomed into the world on August 16, 1979. He was born in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He passed suddenly on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 46 years old. Jonah marched through the gates of heaven into the arms of our Lord where he was made whole.

Early on, it was known that Jonah was special. Jonah had a childhood filled with joy, and he brought pure joy to all he met. Jonah beat the odds (with the help and advocacy of Debra, his mother) and entered the public school system in Bridgeport, Michigan at a time when the inclusion of special needs was unheard of. At the age of 14 he moved to Lake St. Louis, MO where he graduated from Wentzville Holt High School in 2000. He participated and had medals in the Special Olympics. He loved his birthday (if you knew him you knew the date), music, magazines and had a special connection with Garth Brooks' songs and would belt them out at the top of his lungs to anyone who would listen. Most of all, he loved his family and had a special bond with all of his parents and siblings.

In 2000, Jonah moved to Streetman, TX and spent some time there in the family home. He lived the remainder of his life in Corsicana, TX at Happy House.

Jonah was preceded in death by his stepfather Walter Stoddard and his maternal Grandfather and Grandmother (Jim and Joan Wilkinson), and his Paternal Grandfather (Dr. Victor Brown).

Left here on earth to sing Jonah's favorite songs is his mother; Debra Stoddard, Father and Stepmother; Dr. Kevin and Regina Brown, Grandmother; Marilyn Brown, Brothers; Matthew (Sandy) Stoddard, Tim (Carrie) Geese, Gabriel Hadd, Adam (Grace) Brown, Sisters; Elizabeth (Randy) Stanley, Ellen (Mike) Greene, Amanda (Andrew) Rousseau, Marilyn (Jeff) Winter, and Megan (Herbie) Behm. He also leaves Nieces and Nephews; Garrett Stanley, James Greene, Mara Greene, Abigail Geese, Noah Rousseau, Braden Winter, Olivia Winter and Maisey Behm. Jonah had several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who will fondly remember him. Jonah had many special friends.

Visitation will be 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Friday, April 10, 2026, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 pm Friday, April 10, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for Donations to the Special Olympics.
