Jonah "Jonie" Warren, 89, passed away peacefully on November 27th, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved. Born in 1936, Jonah lived a full and hardworking life-one shaped by toughness, humor, and love that showed itself most often through a well-timed tease and a warm smile.
In his younger years, Jonah worked with his family in the coal mining industry. Later, he owned Warren's Service Station in Science Hill, where he was a familiar face in the community. Outside of work, he enjoyed late-model dirt track racing and farming. He and Marie faithfully attended Science Hill Nazarene Church.
He was loved by many, but none more than his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, W.E. "Will" Warren and Lena Warren; siblings, Nelson "Tom" (Carol) Warren, Floyd "Blue" (Izella) Warren, Birdina "Bird" Oakley, and Ralph Warren. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Marie Warren, and his children, Linda (Dean) Harness, Joey (Kimberly) Warren, Jamie (Dana) Warren; siblings, Dave (Patsy) Warren, Barnie (late Reva) Warren, Judy (late Murrel) Phelps, Rick & (Lois) Warren; brother-in-law, Howard Oakley; grandchildren, Stacie (Shannon) Vaught, Bryan (Chasity) Harness, Logan (Jordan) Warren, Waylon (Anastasia) Duff, Brittany (Landon) Brown, Haley (Michael) Lee, Ricky Maxey, Kennedi Warren, Noah Troxtel; and his great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Vaught, Brody Harness, Taylor Vaught, Allyson Harness, Marshall Brown, Carter Lee, Jonah Brooks Warren, Memphis Brown, and Greyson Troxtel.
He will be remembered as a hardworking man with a steady presence whose love was felt in the small, everyday moments.
A life well-lived and a man well-loved-Jonah will be deeply missed.
