Jonathan D. “Tanak” Andrews, 65, of Emerald, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, in his home surrounded by his wife & daughter. He was the husband of Debra A. (Hughes) Andrews, whom he married on September 30, 2006. Born in Palmerton on February 21, 1960, he was the son of the late Robert and June (Moyer) Andrews. Tanak was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1978, where he was known for his athletic ability in football & wrestling. Most of his working years were for Nestle Purina as a forklift operator and prior in construction and the former Lehigh Valley Dairy. Tanak was a member of Teamsters Local Union 463 & 773. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16, Slatington Skeet Club, VFW Walnutport, Slatington Moose, Diamond Fire Co., and the Emerald Fire Co.
In addition to his wife Debra, he will be lovingly remembered by a daughter, Dena Andrews of Cherry Hill, NJ, grandchildren: Rowan & Mikhaela; siblings: Robert Andrews, Patricia House, Judy Hoffman, Kenneth Andrews, Shirley Andrews, Michele Kern. He was pre-deceased by sisters, Deborah (Andrews) Fritz & Lorraine Fritz.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 3PM on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington PA.
