With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Jonathan Christopher Arehart, who left this world far too soon on November 14, 2025. Born on October 21, 2008, Jonathan was a bright, hardworking, and kind-hearted young man whose presence brought comfort, humor, and light to everyone who knew him.
Jonathan was a proud student at Heritage High School, where he was known for his infectious sense of humor. He was a committed student athlete, but it was wrestling that truly captured his heart. The wrestling room was his second home, and his teammates and coaches were like family. He grew not only in skill, but in character-learning perseverance, respect, humility, and the kind of inner strength that shaped who he was both on and off the mat.
Wrestling brought out Jonathan's determination and resilience. He loved the grind, the camaraderie, the challenge of pushing himself harder each day, and the brotherhood he found in the sport. His wrestling community meant the world to him, and he carried a deep pride in being part of that team. Even on the toughest days, stepping onto the mat made him feel alive, confident, and connected to something bigger than himself.
He also ran cross country, giving unwavering effort in every race and finding joy in being part of another close-knit team. Through sports, Jonathan built friendships, discipline, and a sense of purpose that touched everyone around him.
Jonathan was a faithful member of Peavine Baptist Church, where he found community, support, and a growing relationship with the Lord. His compassion, humility, and gentle spirit reflected his faith in beautiful ways.
Jonathan will be forever remembered as a devoted son, brother, grandson, and friend. He is survived by his father: Joseph Arehart; his siblings: Jacob Arehart, Hailey Arehart, and Emily Arehart; his grandparents: Joe (Cindy) Arehart and Judy Arehart; his aunt: Callie (Marcel) Nicholas; and his cousins, Caleb Borhman, Laney Borhman, and Marcel Nicholas, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.
Beyond his accomplishments, Jonathan was thoughtful, loyal, and deeply loving-a young man with a tender heart who cared genuinely for those around him. He had a way of making others feel seen, understood, and valued. His contagious dimpled smile, quiet strength, and steady presence could brighten even the heaviest day.
A service to honor and celebrate Jonathan's life will be held at [location] on [date/time]. Family and friends-including his wrestling community-are invited to gather, share memories, and support one another as we remember the beautiful life of a young man who meant so much.
Jonathan, you will always be loved, always missed, and never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, November 21st at Peavine Baptist Church with Nathan McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Peavine Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Thursday, November 20th at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
