He is preceded in death by his parents, John Milton Copeland Jr. and Margaret Susan Vreeland.
He is survived by his sister & brother-in-law; Christi and William Payne of Dalton, partner; James Cothren of Cleveland, TN, niece; Ruby Payne, and nephew; Henry Payne.
The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.

I was married to Jonathan for 10 years, we spent alot of time together before that. He was one of my best friends for a long time and I have countless wonderful memories of him. I pray he is at peace now and although we did not speak much in recent years I will miss him always. RIP my friend
