It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jonathan Kwesi Merrick Gass, age 53, of Suwanee, Georgia, who departed this life on Monday, February 2, 2026. Jonathan was a man of quiet strength, profound discipline, and a global heart that bridged three nations.

A Legacy of Service and Discipline
Jonathan's life was defined by a commitment to excellence and a warrior's spirit. An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he carried the values of honor and courage into every facet of his life.
In his professional career, Jonathan served as the Senior Supervisor of Quality Control at Bend Bioscience in Georgia. Known for his meticulous nature and leadership, he was a respected colleague and mentor. Outside of the laboratory, he found community and purpose as a dedicated practitioner and brother within the Southern Praying Mantis Federation, where he was admired for his skill and dedication to the martial arts.
A Global Family
Jonathan's warmth and character were felt across borders. He was a cherished figure in the lives of his family and friends in the United States, Canada, and Ghana. He is survived by:
• His Father: David Simpson Gass of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada.
• His Sister: Zelma Badu-Younge and Brother-in-Law, Paschal Younge, of Athens, Ohio.
• A vast network of close-knit friends and extended family who will miss his presence dearly.

Jonathan was a man who lived with intention-whether he was upholding the rigors of quality control, practicing his forms, or sharing a moment with those he loved. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew the depth of his character.
Memorial Information
