Jonathan (Jon) Michael Gust, 63, of Olathe, passed away on September 2, 2022, at his home in Olathe, KS.
He was born on June 2, 1959, to Dr. Kurt and Jeanne (Olson) Gust in Lawrence, KS and raised by Maurice and Jeanne Nilson, after Kurt's passing and Jeanne remarried.
He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and served our country in the US Marine Corps. Jon dedicated much of his career as a Supplies Manager/Technician for All Systems of Kansas City, working there for 33 years. He was currently employed as a Delivery Driver at O'Reilly Auto Parts since 2021.
Jon was a former member of Olathe Bible Church (now known as Journey Bible Church) serving as a Deacon, singing in the choir, and ministering abroad in Belarus and New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church, participating in a Small Group, Men's Bible Study, and serving in Awana with the kids. He dedicated his time installing and monitoring alarm systems at both churches, assisted with lighting in the tech booth, and helped preparing meals as a chef in the church's kitchen for several years.
Jon enjoyed spending his time with family and grandchildren, taking walks out in nature, and helping others with whatever they needed. He was a long-time blood donor, an all-around fix it man, loved the Lord with all his heart, and had a passion of sharing Christ with others.
Jon is survived by his sons Josh Gust, Brad Gust, Justin Gust, and Ben Gust, and grandchildren, his parents, Maurice and Jeanne Nilson, and brothers Pete Gust and Mark Gust, and sisters Sarah March and Karen Grabin.
Jon was preceded in death by his father Dr. Kurt Gust and sister Heidi Gust. He will be greatly missed.
