With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bruce MacArthur, who left this world on February 9, 2026, in Olathe, Kansas at the age of 79. Born on November 5, 1946, in Seattle, Washington, Bruce led a life characterized by dedication to his Christian faith.
He held a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma Washington. He then joined the Marine Corps, first assignment following basic training was in Hawaii, followed by Okinawa and Viet Nam, with final being in California. He lived in several places in the United States, finally settling in Kansas for the majority of his life.
Bruce had several interests; playing harmonica, playing dobro. He enjoyed square dancing and being president of a chapter for quite some time. He was proud of increasing the interest and membership substantially.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Simpson, his brothers, Alan and Doug MacArthur, and preceded in death by his brother Gordon. He had several cousins he spent time with growing up and while stationed in Hawaii.
As we reflect on Bruce’s life, we remember a man who embraced his passions, valued his many friends and neighbors and above all, embraced and shared his faith every chance he got. He will be dearly missed but always remembered for the impact he made during his time with us.
