Harper, Jonathan Marr "Jon"

Entered Eternal Life on Thursday, September 11th, 2025 at the age of 87. Devoted husband to the late Penelope Ann "Penny" (Nee Gillett). Very special father to Geoffrey and Megan Marr Harper, both of Denver Colorado. He is further survived by his dear companion dog, Maggie, and remembered by other relatives, friends, and many business and travel acquaintances.

Jon graduated from Milwaukee Country Day, Campion Jesuit High School, Prairie du Chien, Wis. (1955), and Marquette University, School of Business (1959).

Following his graduation from college, Jon joined the Wisconsin Air National Guard in their Internal Publicity Communication Dept., as well as was employed by the Milwaukee Journal Advertising Dept..

He also worked for "Market Facts" conducting face to face interviews regarding outside hardware for the development of the first Ford Mustang.

In 1963, he joined Galland Henning as their Ad Manager and soon after VP of Marketing. Jon was very active serving on several Board positions in the Chicago and Milwaukee Advertising field.

For 20 years (1965-85) Jon was a partner in Walter's Food Distributors. He then sold his share and joined his late wife, Penny, creating East Town Travel's Group and Incentive Travel Division. He also served in several countries on their International Tourist Advisory Boards.

Jon was a member of the Milwaukee Athletic Club for over 50 years, as well as a volunteer and very generous supporter of Make A Wish Foundation, Heart Ball, St. Ann's Intergenerational Day Care, The Humane Society and German Fest.

Friends may join the family for Jon's Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday, September 25th, 2025 at Old St. Mary's Church, 844 N. Broadway at 10:00am. Private inurnment, Forest Home Cemetery.

Memorials in Jon's name can be made to Old St. Mary's, The Alzheimer's Association of Wisconsin, and/or The Humane Society.
