Jonathan Nathaniel Lamas, Jr. was born on April 10, 1989, in Houston, Texas, and passed away on January 11, 2025, in Cleveland, Texas, at the age of thirty-five years.
Jonathan was a kind and gentle soul with an unwavering love for animals and people. His pure heart saw no harm in anyone, and his infectious laugh could light up even the darkest of days. Jonathan loved the Lord deeply and cherished attending church services, where he found joy in singing hymns. A gifted student, he was a straight-A achiever and proudly graduated from Lufkin High School as part of the Class of 2011.
His joyful spirit, love for life, and ability to bring laughter to those around him made him a treasured presence in the lives of his family and friends. Jonathan shared an extraordinary bond with his father, Jonathan Sr., who was not only his parent but also his best friend. He delighted in following his father to work or wherever life took them, reflecting their close connection.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce Ann (Sheppeard) Lamas "grandmother" and Santos Angeles Lamas; Leland "Pete" Tullos and Jimmie Lou Hamilton; his niece, Devada Smith; and his uncles, Melvin Pitts and Bubba Hill, as well as his aunts, Frances King and Bethany Gregory.
He is survived by his loving mother, Doris Wayne Tullos of Porter, Texas; his father, Jonathan Nathaniel Lamas, Sr., and stepmother, Stephanie, of Cleveland, Texas. Jonathan is also survived by his siblings: Charlie Nelson of Huntsville, Texas, Nathan Lamas of Cleveland, Texas, Halee Lamas of Cleveland, Texas, Angie Lamas of Lufkin, Texas, Hannah Lamas of Cleveland, Texas and Brittney Diann Sullivan Lamas that loves you as a mom; Ensley Lamas of Coldspring, Texas, Chloe Beam of Cleveland, Texas, Alyssa Beam of Cleveland, Texas, and Sheila Wells of New Caney, Texas.
Additionally, he is survived by his step-grandfather, Harold Hill of Splendora, Texas; uncle, Gary Hill of New Caney, Texas; and aunts: Vonda Tullos of Huntington, Texas, Kim Tullos of Splendora, Texas, Becky Hill of Splendora, Texas, Patricia Hill of New Caney, Texas, Guy and Meredith Burney of Cleveland, Texas, Angel and Anna Ackley of New Caney, Texas, and Missy Lamas of Shepherd, Texas; uncle, David Lamas of Cleveland, Texas. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Johnson-Tullos Cemetery in Apple Springs, Texas, beginning at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM, with burial at Johnson-Tullos Cemetery.
Jonathan will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and light will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
