Jonathan Mark Leavy, 52 of Palm Coast, Florida - A friend, son, brother, and father peacefully passed away from stage 4 kidney and thyroid cancer with his loved ones surrounding him at his residence on September 12th, 2025.
Jonathan Leavy was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on December 19th, 1972 to Robert and Ruth Leavy. Graduating from Cumberland Regional High School in 1991 with an honorable mention from the National Honor Society, he went on to receive some college experience before pursuing a career with the United States Air Force from 1994 to 1998. From 2014 to 2024, he stayed employed as a Forklift operator in the freezer section at US Foods in Port Orange. He loved his coworkers' and manager's fellowship and prided himself on his clean, tidy aisles, which was an extremely difficult task, especially with having a quota every day.
Jonathan loved to travel and explore the world while being posted overseas, never letting a moment slip away with his colleagues. The number of stories told never ceased to amaze his dear family. Other hobbies he enjoyed include playing mini golf, playing dozens of board games like "Yatzee" and "Monopoly", listening to punk, rock, and metal music, and watching sports with his children, as well as watching thousands of movies, mostly old school, ranging from the original "Spiderman" to "Kill Bill".
Jonthan is survived by his children Jessica Leavy and Mark Leavy, and ex-wife Ania Leavy, all of Palm Coast, Florida.
Jonathan, my dear father, was a force to be reckoned with. He was stubborn to his bones but had a lot of love to give. Had a lot of stories to be told, to be shared. I am extremely blessed to have him in my life. He was there when I needed him the most and vice versa. In his last final months, we got to make up for lost time and make the most of it doing what he loved. Even though he is now gone, in heaven, he will always be with us in our hearts and watching over from above.
The service to honor the life of Jonathan Mark Leavy was held on October 8th, 2025, at the Cape Canaveral Veterans Cemetery. He now lies there, in the wall, holding his place in time, to remember and honor his life, his dedication, and above all, his service to his country, which he loved.
