Jonathan Macedo Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 26, 2022.
Jonathan Macedo of Los Angeles, California passed away on March 24th, 2022 at the age of 21. Jonathan was born on September 13, 2000, in Austin, Texas where he grew up.
Jonathan was dearly loved by his parents Ana Luisa Antunez and Jose P. Macedo. He is also survived by his sisters Adilene Macedo, Mayra Macedo, and Karen Macedo.
Jonathan graduated from Akins High School in 2019. He later attended Los Angeles Studio School to pursue his acting career.
Jonathan was actively involved in the Akins Journey Theater along with the Pre-Professional Company at ZACH Theatre, where his passion for acting, singing, and dancing grew deeper. He started in many plays and musicals such as James and the Giant Peach, The Rock of Ages, Hairspray, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, and many more along with choreographing different performances.
During his time in the theater, Jonathan achieved the following: Best Actor in "Hairspray" (2018), Akins Journey Theatre Company's Most Valuable Player (2019), "Most Likely To End Up On Broadway" (2019), Akins' High School & Fine Arts Department Excellence in Theatre (2017-2018), and ZACH's Pre-Professional Company Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Award Scholarship (2018 and 2019).
In his free time, he enjoyed going on hikes, paddle boarding, swimming, walks on the beach, working out, being with family, and hanging out with friends.
Jonathan was one of the kindest, most courageous, hard-working, most generous souls anyone could ever be lucky enough to know. His energy lit up the entire room, he was always in good spirits and made everyone laugh and smile. He always pushed himself to be the best person he could possibly be, he was a great son, brother, cousin, and friend. Jonathan had a special sparkle that won't ever die, he will always be our brightest star.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation for Jonathan that will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the family's home, 112 Totovia Dr, Del Valle, TX 78617. I met Jonathan when I went to my granddaughter´s and his graduation. He walked up to me and gave me a big hug. That beautiful smile filled a room. I was glad I got to open my home in Santa Fe to such a wonderful young man. I will always remember Jonathan with much fondness. I will be there for his friend Page to get through the loss of her bestie. RIP sweet Jonathan.
