Jonathan "Gentle Giant" Moore of Fort Washington, MD transitioned August 12, 2025. A Life To Remember The Moore Family with heavy hearts announce that their son, father, nephew, and friend peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2025. Jonathan Ty'Ree was born on February 7, 1986 to the parentage of Emily Ree Moore and Gregory Jones in Washington DC. He was educated in the Prince George's County school system, graduating with the class of 2004 from Friendly High School. Jonathan attended TESST College in 2006 and graduated with a degree as a Network Information Specialist. He received Microsoft Certification and landed a job with National Cash Register (NCR) until landing a position with Diebold Nixdorf (DN) to present. He was a hard-working employee who was dedicated to his job. One of Jonathan's passions earlier on was wrestling with his Uncle Alvin. Then came computers and online gaming. The comments below are from his online friends; Cheers to Big Grizz! Jem (pronounced "Gem") World, as my oh so loving community is called, knew Jonathan as BigGrizzly316. I'm happy to say he fully embodied his name as a big teddy bear. Grizzly was kind, loving and warm any time you came across him. Jem World had another nickname for Grizzly however…Big Bully. Because Grizzly bullied us with love and support even when it didn't feel like that was what was happening, I gave him the nickname of Bully Bear after he told me he had never had so much fun supporting a streamer before – after his fun resulted in me losing my game several times in a row. Even when we fussed at him about being a loving bully, his response was always "Love you too, Ms. Lady." One thing that we all knew about Grizz was how much his mother and his sons meant to him. He was always so proud to show off Johnny and Xavier when they had good grades, won sports games, and he always loved to show us when his cubs helped him prepare meals. Grizzly was a pillar in Jem World but a light and support to so many other communities as well! It was very clear how supportive and loving Grizzly was to all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jem World has felt the loss of your presence and light, and we know that loss is felt across every community you touched. Cheers to you Grizz. We love you. We mean it. Until next time my friend. #LongLiveBullyBear OMJess and Jem World Later on in life he met and married Atinuke Doherty and in that union, they raised two boys. His memory will live on in the life of his mother, Emily Moore and his two sons, Jonathan and Xavier Moore; aunts, Drucilla Moore, of Chipley, Flordia and Fredia Moore of Saint Marys, Georgia; uncles, Alan Bernard (Debra) Moore of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Curtis Moore, Sr. (Deceased), Julius Moore, Sr. (Deceased), Alvin Moore of Chipley, Flordia and Rennie (Carolyn) Moore of Saint Marys, Georgia
with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the family Saturday, August 23rd from 11:30 am until time of Memorial Service, 12:30 pm in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
