Cheryl Yvonne Moore, fondly known as "Nan" to many, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025.

She was born on March 10, 1947, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to her parents Vera Hepner and Adrian Lee. Cheryl was raised in Coffeyville, Kansas, where she attended elementary school before graduating from Welch High School. An avid athlete, she was active in sports throughout her school years.

After high school, Cheryl married Clete Neal and together they welcomed her beloved daughter, Stacy. Following a catastrophic car accident that left both Cheryl and Stacy badly injured, Cheryl dedicated her life to living fully and to caring for her daughter.

In January 1987, she married James "Jim" Moore, her "Marlboro Man." Together, Cheryl and Jim enjoyed many wonderful years boating, golfing, and spending time with family and friends at the lake and in their home. Cheryl owned several businesses, ran a consignment shop with booths, and later served as a regional alcohol distributor. Her entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by her generosity and her love of welcoming others into her home.

Family was always Cheryl's greatest joy. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren and later with her great-grandchildren, finding happiness in their laughter, sports games, and milestones. Her warmth and love touched every corner of her home and the lives of those around her. Holidays and gatherings were her specialty, filled with warmth, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness she loved having her home full of family and friends.

Cheryl is survived by her brother, Rick Lee; stepbrother, Rick Hepner; stepsisters, Tammie Thiele and Janie Wintjen; her grandsons, Dylan Rogers and Dallas Rogers; granddaughter-in-law, Sydney Rogers; and her great-grandchildren, Emmalynn, Rhett, and Myles Rogers. She is also survived by her stepsons, Jimmy Moore and Billy Moore (Stephanie); step-grandchildren, Timmy, Abrianna (Abram), James, Danica, and Maddux Moore; and step-great-grandchildren, Ivoree and Indie Arechiga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Moore; her daughter, Stacy Neal; her parents, Vera Hepner and Adrian Lee; her stepfather, Kenneth Hepner; her stepmother, Burt Lee; stepbrother, Rick Vanoster; and stepsisters, Pat Sandusky and Diana Leland. A part of Cheryl's heart went with Stacy, and she longed to be reunited with her daughter.

Per Cheryl's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her daughter. A celebration of life honoring both Cheryl and Jim will be held at a later date.

Our family greatly appreciates the loving care Nan received at Covenant Care Home and cannot express how truly grateful we are to Malissa and the rest of the staff for the exceptional support they provided. Another gratitude goes out to Carter Hospice for their services.

Nan's legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family invites friends and loved ones to share memories and photographs on her memorial page so that together we can celebrate a life filled with resilience, joy, and boundless love.
