Jonathan Mark Owen, Jr., age 43, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Born in Virginia on November 7, 1980, he was the son of Jonathan M. Owen, Sr. and Sharon L. Owen. He was a longtime resident of Chester, VA, and graduated from Thomas Dale High School in 1998. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George T. Owen and his sister; Marcie R. Owen. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Desirae Sollenberger (Trevor), of Chesterfield, VA, Jonathan M. Owen, III of Chester, VA, Evan Owen of Powhatan, VA, and Jaxson Owen of Powhatan, VA; grandchildren, Rylee and Elaina Sollenberger; sisters, Jennifer Brinkley (Maynard) of Newport News, VA, Kimberly Owen Garris (Marquese) of Hampton, VA; half-sister, Louanna Owen; and his grandmother, Ruby L. Owen of Newport News, VA. Also left to cherish his memory are a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many loving friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with the Pastor Steven Rich. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
