Jonathan Lee Peffly, a devoted family man and skilled carpenter, 84, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away on December 23, 2025, at ParkView Heights Nursing facility.

Jonathan was born on March 31, 1941, to Lawrence and Carmen Peffly. He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1959 and went on to attend Tribune University in San Antonio, Texas, where he earned a degree in carpentry.

On June 24, 1964, he married the love of his life, Mary Jane Williams. They raised three children: Jon A. Peffly, Debbie J. Gerwig, and Sarah Lee Peffly.

Jonathan worked construction for the Union in Kansas City, Kansas, before establishing his own business, Peffly Home Improvement, in 1980. He ran his company until his retirement.

A faithful member of the formerly known First Assembly of God Church, now Hope Anthem. Jonathan’s favorite pastimes included Wednesday Night Men's Bible study, Royal Rangers, tinkering, and whittling. He could often be found in his workshop, murmuring, “Come on, Jonathan, think,” or "Where’d you put it?”

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; his three children; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Carmen Peffly, and his brother Paul.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope House in Ottawa, Kansas.   Please leave the family on the message board below the obituary.   www.ppdfuneral.com
