Jonathan Barry Rogers passed away unexpectedly near his home in Centennial, CO, on June 27, 2023, at the age of 59. Jon was born May 22, 1964, at Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Connecticut, and spent the first 43 years of his life in New England. He was a high school football star at Farmington High School in Farmington, Connecticut, and graduated in 1982. Jon went on to receive his Associate in Science degree in 1986 at Dean Junior College in Franklin, Massachusetts, where he met his first wife Jenny Manuche. Jon then received a Bachelor of Arts in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of New Hampshire in 1988. Jon and Jenny married in 1991 and Jon later went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1996. He was a practicing pharmacist from 1996 - 2018 in Massachusetts and Colorado.
In 2007, Jonathan moved to the Denver area to start a family with his second wife Kelly, raising their two sons Jack and Greyson. He surprisingly embraced first time home ownership, all of the yard work that came with it, and enjoyed spending time in the backyard with his young boys. He also loved family vacations to places like Disneyland, New York, Disneyworld, Universal Studios/Hollywood, South Dakota/ Mt. Rushmore and Chicago - even when the boys couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel room to build the ultimate souvenir from the gift shop (that they could have gotten at Target at home) ...Lego sets!
Jon was always fun to be around. His quick wit, every-present sense of humor, and encyclopedic knowledge of even the most random things kept people on their toes. He was incredibly intelligent, curious, and interested in almost everything - but especially history, politics, and yes, cats. More recently he became very attached to and entertained by Lola, a Havanese and Frankie, an overweight rescued Shih Tzu mix that would howl and yodel loudly when Jon played the harmonica badly. He loved anything with an engine, yet nothing compared to motorcycles. He fixed, restored, sold, and above all rode motorcycles with a passion. Jon was a kind and caring man, loved and looked after his family, and felt things deeply. Jonathan will be profoundly missed.
Jonathan was predeceased by his father George Rogers, who died May 28, 2008, and his mother Nancy Delano, who died December 12, 2021. He is survived by his wife Kelly Gillette Rogers, his two sons Jack and Greyson Rogers, and his brothers Tom and Brendan Rogers. Jonathan was laid to rest privately on July 10th, 2023, at Seven Stones - Chatfield, Littleton CO. Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life, at the Reel Event Center in Littleton, CO, from 1 - 4 pm on July 21st, 2023.
