Obituary of Jonathan G Sheldon
Jonathan G. Sheldon, 66 years of age, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at UPMC of Chautauqua Hospital on Monday, October 14, 2024, and is now at peace. He was born on September 27, 1958, in Jamestown, N.Y. to Vincent E. Sheldon I and Vernal (Wilder) Austin. Jonathan graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School, Sinclairville, N.Y. in 1975. He joined the United States Marine Corps and received an Honorable Discharge in1982.
Jonathan is survived by a brother, Vincent E. Sheldon II of Pleasant Township, Warren, PA. He is also survived by two sisters: Paulette (Polly) Crawford (John) and Arlene Daniels (Jeff), both of Jamestown, N.Y. He will be remembered with love, by 8 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
Jon was always a music lover and was proud of the concerts he saw in Hawaii, while in the Marine Corps. He also played the drums. Jon followed hockey, football, basketball, and especially baseball. You could always find him watching Notre Dame, the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Bruins, the Indianapolis Colts or the LA Lakers.
A Service will be held for Jonathan on Saturday Oct. 19, 2024, from 1PM – 3PM at Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home, 111 S. Main St. Jamestown, N.Y. Following the service, guests are invited to a small gathering at the Salvation Army Church, 83 S. Main St. Jamestown, N.Y.
Jonathan would want to say a special "Thank-you" to the C.A.R.T.S. Transportation Team and all the drivers who looked out for him and took him to dialysis. We knew he was safe with them.
