Jonathan Snow Obituary

On October 5, 1978, Jonathan Morgan Snow heaved his way into the world at a small hospital in Pratt, KS as gregariously as he would come to live. Though early life would be marked by a handful of moves, by 5th grade he arrived in Waco, TX which became the place where he grew up and the place where he was from. There, he could be found skateboarding, exploring the creeks, and playing baseball & football.

He graduated from Reicher Catholic High in 1997, and briefly attended Texas Tech before returning to Waco-eventually making his way to Palestine, TX where he would find his path and begin his adult life in the oil fields. He held every position within his career field, starting as a "swamper" or rigger and onto piloting an 18-wheeler that moved oil rigs all over the country.

Hard work, personal sacrifice, and selfless service allowed him to raise his beautiful family with whom he fought to remain until he finally succumbed to cancer at 3:30 am on August 2, 2024 after a long, arduous fight.

He leaves behind his wife, Shaunna (Baker) Snow, who he has faithfully loved for over 24 years; and their adult children, Marcos Baker, Devon Maldonado, & Kadence Snow-along with his grandchildren, Alaura Baker, Marcos Baker Jr, Ilyana Valasquez and Ilyse Valasquez. Additionally, he is survived by his parents, Curtis & Billie Anne Snow; his brother, Matthew; father-in-law, Richard Flores; and mother-in-law, Johann Flores.

He is loved and missed by many more family members, friends, co-workers, and fraternal Masons. All should know that he treasured each of those relationships to the very end.

We will be celebrating Jonathan's life at Herrington Land of Memory 3434 South Loop 256, Palestine, TX 75801 on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer Jonathan's friends make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
