Jonathan David Tyler, 40, of Lepanto, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, California. He was born on July 4, 1982 in Memphis, Tennessee to Shirley Tyler. Jonathan was a member of the Etowah Pentecostal Church of God and a 2000 graduate of EPC High School. He loved to cook, hunt, fish and spend time with his family and friends.
Jonathan’s wish was that his body be donated to the Stanford Medical School. His hope was that his remains would be used to teach doctors and medical students more about the birth defect, which led to his passing. He stated that he hoped his gift would save the life of another child.
Jonathan is survived by his moms: Shirley Tyler and Angie Rodgers of Lepanto, one brother: Courtney Rodgers of Lepanto, grandma: Shirley Adams of Manila, Pappy: Clyde Rodgers of Lepanto, fiancée: Ashley Girdley of Lepanto, and her son Dalton Fletcher, whom he called son, and a host of other family and friends. A memorial stone will be placed in Potter Memorial Cemetery honoring Jonathan’s life.
A Memorial service will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
