Jonathann Grierson

Jonathann (Jon) William Grierson of Abilene, Texas passed away on September 28th, 2025 at the age of 76. Jon was born on October 3rd, 1948 in Maple Heights, Ohio to the late William and Jane Grierson. He grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and later earned his college degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Akron.
Jon married the love of his life, Kathryn (Kathy) Grierson, on April 11,1987 in Akron, Ohio where they built a life full of love, dreams, and shared devotion.
Jon is survived by his wife Kathy; his brother Jeffrey (wife Susan); sister Laurie Ross (husband Terry); sister-in-law Barbara Crist (husband Jeff); and his dear friends John Hendrick, Brian Angeletti and Ryan Case. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jon's professional life included computer programming for Cleveland Clinic Cardiology, child psychology at Blick Clinic, software development for Scientific Optics and later on in life Jon became the head developer for a small gaming company (with the help of his wife and friends) called Passageway Games.
Jon was a kind and thoughtful soul whose compassion touched many lives. He was known for his faith, infectious laugh, big heart, generous spirit, and always wanting to help those in need. Jon loved Fantasy, playing chess and Go (Japanese game) and was extremely creative in writing and artwork. He was a passionate reader, a dreamer at heart, he loved Celtic music (Steeleye Span Gaudete) and he had a deep love for wolves and all wild animals, a trait that reflected his gentle and empathetic nature.
Jon will be deeply missed by family and all who knew him. His time came much too soon but through faith, we know we will see him again.
