ANSONVILLE – On Monday, December 11, 2023, Mr. Jonathon Bennett “Jay” Kelly, 34, passed away in Alabama.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery in Ansonville.
The family will greet friends Friday, December 15, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Jay was born June 13, 1989 in Stanly County, NC and was a son of Jerry Bennett “Benny” Kelly, Jr. and Andrea Wilson Kelly. He attended the public school of Anson County and was the owner and operator of Kelly Transport LLC.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Allison”Allie” Kelly; his children, Austin, Emma, Laila, Ava and Adrianna Kelly; his parents, Benny and Andrea Kelly of Ansonville; his brother, Weston Kelly and wife, Scarlet of Ansonville; his nephews, Ayden and Sawyer Kelly of Ansonville; his grandmothers, Brenda Wilson of Ansonville and Janice Kelly of Wadesboro; his mother-in-law, Angela Tiller and husband, Van of Marshville; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nicole Flake and husband, Matt of Lilesville, Aaron Cooper and Jerrett Tiller both of Marshville; his aunts, Judy Morris of Wadesboro, Gina Kelly of Monroe and Tina Kelly of Laurel Hill.
Jay was living his dream by owning and operating his own trucking business and driving the big truck! He loved classic cars, motorcycles and big trucks! He enjoyed cooking and recently deer hunting.
He had a warm and caring heart, a huge heart that would do anything for someone he felt was in need. He had a larger-than-life personality and anyone who met him loved him.
Jay was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandson and friend. In the words of his dad, “he was not just my son, he was my best friend.”
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rev. Johnny Wilson and Jerry Kelly.
