Joni Marie Kimmel

Joni Kimmel's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. From the moment she became a mother, her sons Daniel and Nathan were her greatest treasures. She poured her heart into raising them-guiding with kindness, love, and an unwavering belief in who they could become.

Joni was more than a mother, friend, sister, or daughter-she was a light. Her presence was comforting, her words reassuring, and her spirit endlessly positive. She had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen, valued, and loved.

Her days were filled with caring for others in ways big and small: preparing meals that brought people together, cheering for her boys at games and milestones, mentoring students and colleagues as a dedicated teacher, or simply offering her steady presence to a friend in need. She gave endlessly and selflessly, always placing others before herself.

A lifelong educator, Joni spent the last five years as a guiding light at Maple Heights and had dedicated many years before that to shaping young minds. She loved numbers, but even more, she loved helping students feel capable, supported, and empowered-leaving a lasting mark on countless lives. Beyond the classroom, she was deeply rooted in the Twinsburg community, always ready to lend a hand, support an event, or bring people together. She was the rock of her family and a caretaker for many more.

Joni found joy in life's simple pleasures: sunny beach days, evenings on a patio with friends, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies, and listening to live music with those she loved. She had a gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories and for making everyone around her feel cared for and reassured.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Daniel and Nathan; daughter-in-law, Jordyn; her loving boyfriend, Steve; her twin brother, Gerry, sister-in-law, Stacey; her two dogs, Furgie and Hope; and many cherished family members and friends who adored her. She will be eternally missed.

A celebration of Joni's life will be held on September 14th at the Aurora Shores Marina, from 12–5 p.m.-one of her favorite places by the water. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Joni's memory by spending time with loved ones, sharing laughter, enjoying live music, or savoring something sweet-just as she would have wanted.
