Jonie Kay (Mitts) Graves, 71, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday morning, June 26th, 2025, in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born July 23rd, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Dr. Paul and Berniece Mitts.
Jonie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Tommy Harold Graves, her beloved son, Mickey Don Graves, and her parents, Paul and Berniece Mitts.
She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend and is survived by her faithful daughter, Marla Dawn Arnold, and her husband, Raymond Sonny Arnold of Bartlesville; sister, Kelly Mitts Stowe of Bartlesville; and brothers, Danny Mitts and wife Patsy of Skiatook, and Tommy Mitts and wife Marva of Skiatook. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Jonie was a 1971 graduate of Skiatook High School and soon after married Tom. She was a devoted wife to her soulmate Tom and a devoted mother to Mickey and Marla. She loved to watch both of them play basketball. For many years, she and Tom were ingrained in the world of dog shows. They spent their lives showing bulldogs, basset hounds, French bulldogs and coordinating dog shows. She was a founding member and the first president of the Bulldog Club of Greater Tulsa. Jonie loved the Dallas Cowboys, Elvis Presley, David Phelps, her family, and her dogs.
Those who knew Jonie will remember her as a personality who lit up every room she entered. With a strong sense of self, a wonderful sense of humor, and a frank, honest nature, Jonie was a joy to be around. She was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville with Pastor Jeff Wooden officiating.
