Jonathan Fewins

Jonathan Wayne Fewins "Jon", 42, of Traverse City passed away July 15, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1983, in Traverse City, where he was also raised, to Ron Fewins and Judy Flynn, both of Traverse City.
Jon enjoyed being outside, especially hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He was an avid Lions fan, even through the tough years. He was a man with a brilliant mind and many talents most people never knew. While he was able to have light in his life, he faced many daily battles and struggles. In honoring his life, his family believes it is important to acknowledge that he died by suicide. They share this with compassion and a desire to support others who may be suffering. To anyone struggling: your pain is valid, you are not alone, and you are deeply valued.
He is remembered by his parents, Ron (Sharon) Fewins and Judy Flynn; his siblings, Lauren Martin and Austin (Katie) Groesser; his nephew, Jack; and an eagerly awaited niece. His memory is lovingly carried on by numerous family including aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He is proceeded in death by his maternal great-grandparents and grandparents, Frances and Robert Wilkie, 2009 & 2012 and Carol (Mercy) Nepper, 2021 and his paternal grandparents Loren & Barbara Fewins, 2021 & 2025.
There will not be an official service, however Lauren will be at 6764 Barney Rd. in Traverse City at the camper (not the house), Sunday July 27, 2025, from 1-3PM enjoying the outdoors in his memory. Anyone is welcome to bring a chair and join to sit
in silence, share a hug or tell a one-minute story that takes 12. Wear your Lions gear or Honolulu blue if you have it.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider planting a tree in his honor to celebrate his love of the outdoors.
