Jordan Cardwell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Funeral & Cremation - Mann on Dec. 5, 2025.
Jordan Thomas Cardwell, a beloved member of the Knoxville community, outlived his original prognosis from a rare genetic disorder, Tuberous Sclerosis. He passed away the afternoon of December 3rd, at age 33, surrounded by his immediate family and paternal grandparents.

Jordan's disease never defined who he was. Those who knew him know that his joy for life, stubbornness, and general silliness are central themes to his survivorship. Jordan's remarkable longevity was, in every sense, a testament to the unwavering devotion of his parents. Long before accessible treatments existed, his father tirelessly researched and secured foreign drug therapies that gave Jordan a fighting chance. His mother became a relentless advocate - famously chasing down the Governor of Tennessee to push for better rights and resources for children with disabilities. Their combined persistence, courage, and refusal to accept limitations gave Jordan a life filled with joy, comfort, and possibility far beyond what doctors imagined.

Although doctors would describe his mentality as that of a toddler, Jordan had a perception, and a knowing smirk, that were of someone of his true age. His classmates and peer tutors from Hardin Valley Academy would certainly agree.

Jordan was known for his love of spending time with his favorite toy, the See 'n Say. He was also a huge fan of holding the speakers of his cherished music toys right up to his ear to get the best listening experience. He loved his mother's cooking and also enjoyed Sprite, cereal, Oatmeal Cream Pies, and "Nutty Buddies." Above all, Jordan loved being out for a drive with his father, Frank Cardwell, his mother, Lori Cardwell, and his brother, Trenton Cardwell - "riding in the little truck."

Upon Jordan's passing, those he left behind look forward to being in his magnetic and simultaneously comical presence. He had a comfortability about him that could disarm anyone with a hardened heart.

Jordan's celebration of life is taking place on Monday, December 8th, at Rose Mortuary at 6200 Kingston Pike from 2 - 4 pm. Those who were moved by Jordan's life are welcome to attend.

Eulogy from close family and friends to be given at 3:30pm. Online condolences may be made at www.rosefuneraltn.com.
