It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Carlos “Los” Carrillo. He peacefully entered Heaven's embrace on August 2, 2024, at the age of 29. Affectionately known as “Los” to his family and friends, Carlos was a proud native of Austin, where he shared his love generously among family and friends. One of his cherished pastimes was spending time with his family and hanging out at the lake with his homeboys.
There to embrace Carlos at Heaven's Gates were his paternal grandfather and great-grandfather, Fred Resendez Jr. and Fred Resendez Sr., alongside his maternal grandparents, Ralph Hernandez Sr. and Juanita Hernandez, his cousins Manuel Martinez Sr., Amanda Hernandez, and Chloe LeeAnn Mendez, uncle Jesse Resendez, and best friend Frank “Nuno” Ramos.
Carlos leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his grief-stricken family: his mother, Jo Anna; brothers Angel and Nino; baby sister Rianna; paternal great-grandmother Martha “Wella” Resendez; maternal grandmother Corine Hernandez; aunts Teresa Alba, Carmen Garcia, Vivian Resendez; and uncle Steve Resendez. Among those who will deeply miss him are his beloved cousin Jose “Junior” Rico and best friends Ray Granados, Eric Hernandez, and Chris Harris.
His earthly departure has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew him best. As we navigate this time of sorrow, we find solace in our faith that our Lord will provide comfort and serenity in our mourning. Though physically absent, Carlos's compassionate spirit and unwavering willingness to assist others will always remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. FOREVER~29.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Thursday, August 8th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Carolos's Life will take place at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, August 9th at 10:00 AM followed by Graveside services at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
