Jose G. Chacon, aged 79, of Calimesa, California, passed away on October 27, 2024, due to complications from dementia. Born on June 29, 1945, in Michoacan, Mexico, to Anita Guerrero, Jose experienced a challenging upbringing marked by poverty and limited educational opportunities. With the love and support of his mother, he made the courageous decision to pursue the American Dream, migrating to the United States at the age of 26 alongside his cousins. Throughout his journey across various states, he worked in numerous agricultural fields, earning modest wages. Eventually, he established his primary residence in California. Jose dedicated himself to full-time employment while attending night classes to learn English. After mastering the language, he furthered his education by studying Mechanics in the evenings. During this time, he also became a United States citizen. While residing in Bell Gardens, California, he met Maria, the love of his life. The couple married in 1981 and later moved to Montebello, California, where they welcomed their first child, Hennessy, in 1982. Family was of utmost importance to Jose, and he cherished his wife deeply. The family continued to grow with the births of Jose Rabanne Jr. in 1984, Tawny in 1989, and April in 1992. In pursuit of better opportunities, he relocated his family to San Diego County. He and Maria welcomed their final child, Kiara. In 2007, Jose retired and enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family. Jose was known for his sarcastic humor and playful demeanor, he also possessed a quieter side. Jose had a passion for travel, often taking his family to his favorite destination, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Regrettably, after years of living with diabetes, Jose began to exhibit signs of memory loss, ultimately receiving a diagnosis of progressive dementia Josein 2023. In his final moments at home, Jose passed away peacefully in his sleep, enveloped by the love of family and friends. Jose was preceded in death by Anita Guerrero. He is survived by his wife, Maria Chacon, as well as his children Hennessy, Jose Jr., Tawny, April, and Kiara. He also leaves behind his granddaughters Mya, Alexa, and Parker, along with his sons-in-law, Daniel and Eric. Jose was deeply cherished and left a significant mark on the lives of those who knew him. His laughter, humor, warmth, enthusiasm, and smile will always be remembered. Jose requested no services; he preferred cremation without any formal celebration. Nevertheless, if you wish to send flowers to Maria or share a few kind words, such gestures would surely uplift her spirits
