Jose Colon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home - Iron Mountain on Mar. 1, 2026.
Jose Angel Torres Colon, 31, of Iron Mountain passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at Bellin Memorial Hospital due to natural causes.

Jose was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on Nov. 3, 1994, to Samuel Torres and Odalis Colon. He graduated from Ponce High School and then from National University College where he studied the culinary arts. In 2021 Jose moved to Iron Mountain and took a position in the paint department with Home Depot. Jose was a dedicated and recognized employee and was loved by the entire staff.

Jose was a great big lovable teddy bear until his competitive side was unleashed. When challenged to a game of chess or one of his favorite video games he was relentless. He was a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions and his favorite WWE wrestler, John Cena. Jose was always fun to be around and he particularly enjoyed spending time with family, sharing his delicious food and watching anime. He will be lovingly remembered for his kindness and his funny little dances.

Jose will be deeply missed by his parents; 2 brothers, Samuel Torres Colon (Nayeli Valentin Padilla) and Fabian Torres Colon; nephew, Zair Abdiel Melendez Valentin; niece, Mykaela Sophia Torres Valentin; uncle, Jose Antonio Colon Alvarez; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m.

Jose's family would like to thank all of his co-workers and friends that made his time in Iron Mountain special as well as the staff of Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay for their care and compassion.

Condolences may be expressed to the family of Jose Angel Torres Colon online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com.
