Jose Flores, Sr. of Slaton passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the age of 65. He was born April 1, 1949 in Brownsville to Jesus and Espiranza (Cerda) Flores, Sr. He married Lousie Mojica in 1968. He worked for Eugene Bednarz as his farm hand for over thirty five years. He was a member of St. Ramon Catholic Church in Woodrow where he played for the church choir.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Louise of Slaton; daughter, Patsy Rogers and husband Dave of Waco; sons, Jose Flores, Jr and Judas Michael Flores; brothers, Jesus Flores, Jr., Ruben Flores, Milo Flores, Guadalupe Flores, George Flores and Renee Flores; sisters, Yolanda Gonzales, Felaicitas Portillo, Rachel Garza, Jovita Allala, Elida Ramos and Rosa Torres; grandchildren, Joe Anthony Flores, Christopher Ray Flores, Linsy Sophia Flores, Cody Lee Rogers, Briana Nicole Rogers, Hunter Rae Rogers, Riley Renee Rogers, and Kayden Zane Rogers; great grandson, Elijah Flores.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Flores and sister, Maria Vasques.
Private family rosary and mass was held in June.
